Southern Tour de Thailand 2011 Itinerary
Hua Hin to Phuket – 480 miles / 760 kms
We recommend riders arrive a little early to Bangkok. There are plenty of things to do, and we will be more than happy to help you find what it is you are looking for.
If participants would like to arrive early or extend their stay in Thailand or surrounding countries the Tour de Asia Bicycle Touring Co., Ltd. will be happy to make suggestions and can help make arrangements if needed.
Day 1 - Arrive in Hua Hin
Date: Wednesday November 23
Meals: Dinner
All riders for the Southern section must be in Hua Hin by today in order to join the ride on time. We will meet you during the day at the hotel and invite everyone to dinner to welcome you and help get you prepared for your journey, and we say goodbye to any Central Tour de Thailand riders.
Day 2 - Day Off in Hua Hin

Day 3 - Hua Hin to Prachuab Khiri Khan
Date: Friday November 25
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Distance: 73 miles / 117 kms
Today’s ride is filled with spectacular beachfront riding before and after we ride through Khao Sam Roi Yok National Park. Lunch will be at a nice new resort on a quiet beach that tourists still don’t know about. For those that still have a little energy, after the ride we highly recommend that you climb the steps to the mountain-top temple for an amazing view of Prachuap Bay.
Day 4 - Prachuap Khiri Khan to Ban Krut
Date: Saturday November 26
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Distance: 52 miles / 84 kms
Today is another one of our favorite's as we start with riding through the Thai Air Force Base in Prachuap and feed the shy little Dusky Langur Monkeys before continuing on through fishing villages and coconut groves to arrive in Ban Krut for a day of rest, relaxation, and sightseeing.
Day 5 - Ban Krut to Chumphon
Date: Sunday November 27
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Distance: 70 miles / 114 kms
Today’s ride is an incredibly beautiful ride with rolling hills and lots of quiet back roads.
Day 6 - Day Off in Chumpon
Date: Monday November 28

The resort has two pools to relax in, a professional spa to relieve those aching muscles, and there are sea kayaks that you can rent down the road if you want to go for a paddle in the sea. There are also some popular caves to explore in the area.
Day 7 - Chumpon to Lang Suan
Date: Tuesday November 29
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Distance: 93 miles / 105 kms
Relax and enjoy the small town atmosphere of the beach of Lang Suan – “Had Lang Suan”
Day 8 - Lang Suan to Surat Thani
Date: Wednesday November 30
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Distance: 83 miles / 134 kms
Today’s ride is started off by taking a group photo at a very large Buddha image on the beach before more beautiful back road riding.
Day 9 - Surat Thani to Khao Sok National Park
Date: Thursday December 1
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Distance: 68 miles / 110 kms
We are pretty much in absolute beauty in the middle of nowhere, so we just hang by the pool or down by the river. Khao Sok is considered to be one of Thailand’s most beautiful parks.
Day 10 - Day Off in Khao Sok National Park
Date: Friday December 2
Meals: Breakfast
There are many options that you can choose from in this breathtakingly beautiful park from tubing to elephant trekking. As mentioned before, it’s one of Thailand’s most beautiful parks.
Day 11 - Khao Sok to Khao Lak
Date: Saturday December 3
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Distance: 48 miles / 78 kms
Visit the Tsunami Memorials and pay respects to those that lost their lives 7 years before.
Day 12 - Khao Lak to Phuket
Date: Sunday December 4
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Distance: 52 miles / 85 kms
